Ep. 12 Adam Bork
Download MP3My guest today is one of my oldest friends, Adam Bork . We grew up together in Austin, Texas in the 80’s. In 1986 I took Adam to see Jazz innovator Stanley Jordan at the University of Texas.
Being an impressionable teenager and burgeoning guitarist, this led Adam to create his own unique guitar style. In the 90’s Adam was a very successful performer, playing in many of Austin’s greatest clubs and winning accolades under the moniker, “Earthpig”.
In November, 1994, Adam, me and our friends Chris Searles and Seela Misra were booked to open for Jeff Buckley at the iconic Electric Lounge.
In addition to music, Adam is an accomplished photographer and visual artist.
In the 2010s Adam had a Food Truck in Marfa, Texas which gained a lot of national attention : Food Shark.
A program note: most of the photos and videos in today’s video podcast (on YouTube) were taken by Adam.
